The Native American (Style) Flute (cont’d)

One word about the title of my pages and offerings. You might wonder why I state Native American (Style) Flute and not Native American Flute. In the United States of America, the 1990 Indian Arts Crafts Act was passed, which makes it illegal for other manufacturers to imply native origins. The flutes I own and play have been hand-crafted by Andy Schumacher in Switzerland, and therefore, are not Native American Flutes according to this act. A typical way of indicating their similarity, but not implying that they are ‘native’, is to say that they are built in the style of the Native American Flute, hence the ‘Style’ used in my headings.

Enough said on that.. Back to the flute…

The magic of the flute is not something you can learn, it is something you must experience!

“You can teach someone how to play the flute, but you can’t teach them how to make it sing.”
