Why This Project? (4)

That’s how the idea for my project was born: “In Honor Of”. This is what I can do to give something back to the Native Americans, something that comes from my deepest heart and is presented here to honor them.

The title piece “In Honor Of” consists of five segments , each of which represents a specific group. The first group is that of the great powers, i.e. the Creator, the Grandfather, the Great Spirit and Mother Earth. The second honors the ancestors, the third the animal world, the fourth honors all brothers and sisters of our time, and the fifth explicitly honors the children. The next tracks on the album each honor one of these groups. “Mother Earth” and “Greetings from the White Buffalo Calf Woman” honor the great powers. “Whispers of Wounded Knee” and “Ghost Town” bow to the ancestors. “Sounds of the Prairie” is for the animal world. “Mitakyue Oyasin” and “We Shall Be One” are for the brothers and sisters, and “The Children Are Our Future” is of course, for the children. “Walk in Peace” is for all, and “Wopila” is a song of thanks that includes a dedication for each of the five groups.

Join me in a magical journey in honor of the Native Americans…
