Deep grass shakes across the land
A wolf howls
Crickets chirp
Birds sing
Small creatures rustle in the deep grass
An eagle cries
Thunder rolls in the distance
Water rolls by in a nearly empty creek bed

These are the sounds of the prairie’s song. If you listen carefully, you can hear and feel the four-legged and winged ones surrounding you. Honor them, for they watch over and protect you.
