Ghost Town

Remnants of what used to be.

These deserted ruins provide a glimpse of what happened as the white man came. His people came in numbers, building their own societies, leaving little room for those who were there before. They built their houses, homes, churches and saloons. They moved the Native Americans to reservations, promising them that they could keep their identity and sovereignty there. Gold was the spirit to which the white man paid his honor. The majestic buffalos were replaced with iron-made locomotives, blowing steam as they crossed the prairie grasslands.

Yes, the white man came. He came, he left his mark, and moved on. And many say that the ghosts of the past still visit these places long departed to remind us of this devastating past.
